Fire Specialists

New Build – Members of our team are able to assist with initial advice on the fire implications of new build developments and fire strategy within the parameters of Approved Document B of the building regulations. We have experience of providing developers with fire strategies for new builds and for buildings where construction work has started with no formal strategy document in place. We also work closely with fire engineers on more complicated issues where deviation from Approved Document B is required.

Existing buildings – Periodic fire risk assessments are recommended for all building types. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person (e.g. owner, tenant, property manager etc) to carry out fire risk assessments and implement the results of such assessments . There is case law now where people have been prosecuted for not doing such.

Following a fire – our team of Building surveyors have experience of surveying fire damaged buildings, specifying suitable repairs and then monitoring the project to completion. We have experience of dealing with loss adjusters and insurance companies and can assist practical advice on the issues immediately after a fire.
